JFCS is hiring a coordinated intake person for Veterans throughout the Sarasota and Manatee continuum of care. Responsibilities will include answering calls on a dedicated Veteran intake line, responding to walk-ins, and following up on agency referrals to conduct initial screenings and assessments. Referrals will be made to organizations throughout the COC based on Veteran’s needs.
This position is evolving to meet the needs of the community so flexibility and adaptability are two required traits. You must have reliable transportation as you will have to meet Veterans at various locations. Additional qualifications include: strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with employees and leadership of a variety of organizations as well as clients, understanding of computer systems and processes, ability to manage and coordinate intake and referral data, a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of higher education, preferably in a human services-related program and at least two years of experience working directly with low-income individuals/families, preferably with persons who are homeless and/or who are veterans. Veteran preferred but not required.”
