JOB TITLE: Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW)

PROGRAM AREA OR DEPARTMENT: JFCS Counseling Department/Seniors

Accountability:Director of Counseling and Trauma Services

Job Summary/Function:

Provide outpatient therapy services to individuals, groups, couples and families, in office, at school, the community, and in home (if necessary)

 

Qualifications:

  • Excellent grasp of clinical theory and application of evidence based practices in mental health and substance abuse

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience post Master’s Degree

  • LCSW certification

 

Physical Requirements:Mobility throughout agency location and ability to sit through client sessions and meetings.

Education: Master’s Degree from an accredited school, preferably with a major in social work, psychology, counseling, teaching or related field.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform therapy sessions with assigned clients & groups

  • Return phone calls in a timely manner, usually within 24 hours

  • Organize, develop and complete bio-psychosocials, treatment plans and progress notes

  • meet agency's productivity requirements as determined by supervisor 

Required Skills/Areas of Accountability:

  • Ability to engage and work with various ages and populations

  • Ability to work independently

  • Capacity to understand the obligations, functions, programs and services of the agency and refer clients to other interagency programs and services within the community as appropriate.

  • Ongoing interest in obtaining training to update skills and treatment interventions especially in the high risk areas of domestic violence, physical, sexual and emotional trauma, substance abuse and exploitation of children, seniors and vulnerable adults.

  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to cultural diversity, including but not limited to Judaism, and application to counseling populations.

  • Strong ability to relate to other professionals and lay people in the community regarding JFCS, its mission, vision and programs.

  • Ability to establish and maintain positive professional relationships with colleagues within and outside the agency in a professional manner.

  • Excellent time management skills and effort to meet assigned situations and work demands.

  • Ability to comply with all HIPAA regulations, keep confidential information about staff, clients, agency and the within the community in accordance with all current standards.

  • Learn new agency Electronic Health Record (TIER)

  • Ability to recognize one’s own biases and to understand and control them.

 

Training Requirements:

  • Annual HIPAA training

  • Annual Deaf & Hard of Hearing Training

  • All other annual required agency wide and counseling specific trainings

  • Attend day long JFCS new employee orientation within first 4 months of employment
