DESCRIPTION:\n DONATE\n \nThe 2022 Giving Challenge is happening April 26-27 –  and JFCS of the Suncoast would appreciate your support!\nYour donations to JFCS during this day of giving can be the difference between light and darkness for local seniors struggling with life’s challenges. As part of our Aging Services, JFCS offers programs, classes, counseling, and support groups to seniors seeking happiness, healing, and fulfillment.\nHow To Participate In The Giving Challenge\nJFCS is proud to be participating in the 2022 Giving Challenge. This exciting 24-hour online giving event is hosted by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, with giving strengthened by The Patterson Foundation.\nPlease support JFCS by making a donation through the Giving Challenge website from noon to noon on April 26 and 27. You can also help by spreading the word to your friends, co-workers, and anyone you know who might want to help.\nSince 2012, the Giving Challenge has acted as a catalyst for connection and provided more than $59 million in unrestricted funding over seven challenges. This is the most significant philanthropic event in Sarasota, so don’t miss it  –  BE THE ONE!\nHIstory Of The Giving Challenge\nIn 2012, the Community Foundation of Sarasota County launched the Giving Challenge as an opportunity to tap into our community’s generous spirit and inspire local giving at all levels and across all generations. Local nonprofits and the causes they support have always been the heart of the challenge, with a distinct focus on creating capacity-building opportunities – such as those available through The Giving Partner, the Community Foundation’s nonprofit resource designed to increase transparency and encourage philanthropy – that enrich their connections with our community, both during the give day and beyond.\nThat first Giving Challenge raised $2.4 million for 107 nonprofit participants. Fast forward to the most recent 2020 Giving Challenge, held from noon to noon on April 28-29, when nearly 59,000 total donors contributed $19.1 million in 24 hours to benefit 686 nonprofit organizations. This was an important resource for nonprofit organizations to raise unrestricted funds especially facing uncertainty during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.\nSince 2012, seven Giving Challenges hosted by the Community Foundation and strengthened by The Patterson Foundation have collectively provided more than $59 million in unrestricted funding for area nonprofits to respond to community needs with flexibility and innovation. A hallmark of the Giving Challenge is its “Be The One” philosophy, which reflects the Community Foundation’s belief that everyone can be a philanthropist and have the potential to impact a person, cause, and community.\nhttps://vimeo.com/700026183/b5a0c24908https://vimeo.com/700547624/a5ab7a6c16https://vimeo.com/700548316/836e1752cbhttps://vimeo.com/652138004/d117b50a65\n
