Ignite Family Support Specialist

Accountability: Case Management Coordinator

Position Summary: Provide support services to case managers through ancillary activities to ensure comprehensive delivery of services to program participants. The goal is to empower fathers towards improved self-sufficiency through coordinated case management and coaching. Also provide administrative support to the program.

Specific Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Actively patriciate in program outreach activities to recruit and retain referral sources and participants
  • Assist in determining participant eligibility and entering into systems
  • Conduct program intake process and paperwork with participants
  • Perform related work as required such as phone and client contact support, submitting and follow-up on referrals, scanning and any additional tasks as needed
  • Assist in administering participant pre and post surveys
  • Assist in maintaining records and program documentation for fathers receiving services
  • Develop strong supportive relationship with families.
  • Assist with coordination of logistics at various sites for all programing
  • Maintain and monitor appropriate inventory of office supplies
  • Coordinate food and the serving set-up as needed
  • Assist Case Managers and Educators in program preparation, including but not limited to preparing materials, arranging meeting areas, and other program related activities
  • Prepare participant certificates and gift cards for incentives/barrier reduction
  • Assist in management and scheduling of Kids Club workers
  • Record and distribute department meeting minutes
  • Assist with management of the Food Pantry
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as program needs require minimal travel and evenings

Education/Qualifications:

  • AA/AS degree in human services related field
  • Knowledge of community providers and services
  • Understanding of cultural diversity including the culture of poverty and hard to reach or resistant individuals and families
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products and demonstrate competent computer skills
  • Bilingual preferred- English and Spanish

 

Typical Physical Demands:

  • This position requires the individual to perform a broad range of activities. This position requires full range of motion, including manual and finger dexterity and hand and eye coordination. This position requires corrected vision, speech, and hearing to normal range, or special accommodations made of sufficient nature for completion of assigned tasks. This position requires seated work at desk, including use of a computer and technology. This position requires the ability to lift 30 pounds. This position requires the ability to drive and have regular access to a reliable automobile for travel to remote offices. This position requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours

Training:  All required JFCS training per COA, DCF, and any additional training as needed within the required timeframes
