Discussions based on Nancy K. Schlossberg’s book, Overwhelmed: Coping with Life’s Ups and Downs.
Join a weekly meeting co-led by Dr. Nancy K. Schlossberg and Michael Karp as they try to make sense of the overwhelming personal and societal transitions we are experiencing today. We will focus on ways to deal with the inevitable ups and downs in life.
The book is not required for the class but it is available through Nancy’s website at the link below.
Nancy K Schlossberg taught at Howard University, Wayne State University, and 26 years at the University of Maryland, College Park where she is now a Professor Emerita. She was the first woman executive at the American Council on Education. She has written 10 books about transitions and has lived in Sarasota for 22 years.
Also collaborating in the presentation of this program will be Michael Karp, a long standing resident of Sarasota. Prior to his retirement Michael practiced law as a Civil Trial Attorney both in New York, and for 30 years. He has written no books, but has read many. He is a person who needs people, and particularly, at this “Time of Corona” believes that Socialization and Staying Connected to one another is a much needed activity.
