The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Potter Building at the Sarasota County Fairgrounds. It will include FREE food from Fat & Happy Barbeque & More food truck, Carousel’s Soft-Serve Icery truck, a photo booth, games, music, and family fun activities.

The Jewish Families & Children’s Services of the Suncoast held their 11th annual Sarasota Homeless Veterans Stand Down at the Sarasota County Fairgrounds that connected more than 100 veterans with over 40 community agencies and businesses to help them get assistance with housing, employment, finances, healthcare, food, clothing, legal aid, driver’s licenses, toiletries, and much more.
Longboat Key now plays host to more counseling programs for seniors and caregivers, thanks to the new Jewish Family and Children’s Services campus in the Tidewell Building at 540 Bay Isles Road.
The Longboat Key Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting for JFCS’s new facility in the Tidewell Building on May 2. The organization has been operating out of the office for several months but invited board members and supporters to Longboat Key to celebrate the expansion. A big portion of JFCS’s services are geared toward seniors, and a lot of their clients live on the island. Being able to meet them where they are will be important and have a powerful impact, said Stacy Lang, the chief of behavioral health services.

The JFCS of the Suncoast has appointed Eddie Collins as the new chief of client services, overseeing all non-clinical programs and services, including Homeless and Prevention Services, Operation Military Assistance Program, Career and Financial Advancement, Building Strong Families, and Ignite and REACH.
