JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Education Coordinator, REACH

Program Area or Department: Healthy Marriage and Responsible Fatherhood Program (REACH)

Accountability: This position reports to the Program Coordinator

Job Summary/Function: Provide overall supervision and direction related to HMRE primary relationship and secondary parenting workshops. Act as direct supervisor to educators. Ensure fidelity in the delivery of curricula. Promote a dynamic learning environment for participants. Coordinate schedule of classes. Assist in identifying curricula and act as liaison to curricula developers. The curricula delivered will be skills and evidence-based and designed to help form, improve, and sustain healthy relationships and marriages.

Specific Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct supervision to educators
  • Coordinator schedule of classes and MOU partners co-facilitation classes
  • Assist in identifying and ensuring fidelity of curricula delivery
  • Act as liaison to curricula developers
  • Facilitate relationship and parenting education course curricula and adjust as indicated by group dynamic and need as needed
  • Manage a group of up to 25 adult participants
  • Ability to effectively explain new and unfamiliar concepts with confidence and passion
  • Collaborate with MOU partners to provide Domestic Violence Education and Child Maltreatment Education
  • Participate in enrollment appointments to build rapport with participants
  • Track participant program incentives
  • Document and record participant information and service delivery in a timely manner as required by JFCS and funder
  • Participate in program’s Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Implementation team
  • Actively patriciate in program outreach activities to recruit and retain referral sources and participants
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as program needs require minimal travel and evenings

Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a related field and supervisory role
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to lead dynamic group workshops
  • Understanding of cultural diversity including the culture of poverty and hard to reach or resistant individuals and families
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products and demonstrate competent computer skills
  • Bilingual preferred- English and Spanish

Typical Physical Demands:

This position requires the individual to perform a broad range of activities. This position requires full range of motion, including manual and finger dexterity and hand and eye coordination. This position requires corrected vision, speech, and hearing to normal range, or special accommodations made of sufficient nature for completion of assigned tasks. This position requires seated work at desk, including use of a computer and technology. This position requires the ability to lift 30 pounds. This position requires the ability to drive and have regular access to a reliable automobile for travel to remote offices. This position requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.

Training:  All required JFCS training per COA, DCF, and any additional training as needed within the required timeframes
