Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Job Summary/Function:

The responsibility of the Licensed Clinical Social Worker is to provide outpatient therapy and teletherapy services to individuals, groups, couples and families within a variety of populations, with a focus on the 55+ population. The LCSW will also provide group facilitation within the Senior Services Department and will provide supervision to student interns and registered interns.  

AccountabilityDirector of Counseling Services/Supervisor of Clinical Services and Director of Senior Services

Education:  Master’s Degree from an accredited school, preferably with a major in social work, psychology, or counseling

Qualifications:

  • Excellent grasp of clinical theory and application of evidence based practices in mental health and substance abuse
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience post Master’s Degree
  • Florida Licensure

Physical Requirements:

  • Light physical activity is required with occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds. Work is normally performed in an office, community or client home setting. Duties will require travel in personal vehicle. 

Duties & Responsibilities in Counseling:

  • Perform therapy sessions with assigned clients & groups
  • Maintain accurate and timely client documentation as required by the program
  • Return phone calls in a timely manner, usually within 24 hours
  • Meet agency’s productivity requirements as determined by supervisor 
  • Provide clinical supervision to interns placed within the agency

  • Capacity to understand the obligations, functions, programs and services of the agency and refer clients to other interagency programs and services within the community as appropriate
  • Ongoing interest in obtaining training to update clinical skills 
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to cultural diversity, including but not limited to Judaism, and application to counseling populations
  • Strong ability to relate to other professionals and community members regarding JFCS, its mission, vision and programs
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive professional relationships with colleagues within and outside the agency in a professional manner
  • Excellent time management skills and effort to meet assigned situations and work demands.
  • Ability to comply with all HIPAA regulations, keep confidential information about staff, clients, agency and the within the community in accordance with all current standards
  • Utilize Agency Electronic Health Record 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Training Requirements:

  • All JFCS mandatory trainings
  • Required CEUs to maintain active licensure in Florida
