Aging Services

Our Aging Services programs offer seniors the opportunity to establish meaningful relationships and create lifelines in a caring and supportive environment. Where there may have once been feelings of a lack of purpose, loss, grief, and even isolation our services help seniors focus on actions that make a positive impact in their lives and the lives of others. For over 30 years, JFCS has been providing support to Seniors and their caregivers so they have the tools to cope and find happiness and joy in every day.

JFCS offers a wide array of senior-based programs, from caregiver support groups and counseling, to Alzhiemer’s support and education. Caregiver Resources

JFCS offers support, education, training, and opportunities to meet with others facing the challenges associated with the grieving process and how to move beyond.

Caregivers frequently experience fatigue and isolation and don’t know how to ask for help. JFCS offers caregiver support groups and individual support sessions to help caregivers understand what their loved ones are going through, deal with the decisions that need to be made and the emotions they are experiencing, and connect them to the resources needed. This program is free of charge. Caregiver support groups meet weekly.

Caregiver Resources/Alzheimer’s Support and Education Network

Outside support and resources can be very helpful for those caring for someone with Alzheimer’s disease. The Alzheimer’s Support and Education Network through JFCS is a free program created to support you and your family to reduce caregiver stress, increase coping skills, and connect you to community resources, including free respite. Funded by a grant from the Administration on Aging, this program includes individual and family counseling sessions, education, and ongoing support.

Caregiver Resources/Caregiver Helpline

The Caregiver Helpline provides access to information, education and support for the caregiving community. The Caregiver Support Group offers emotional support, affirmation, understanding and socialization as well as assistance with community resources for individuals who are serving as caregivers for aging parents, spouses or other family members.
