Sarasota, FL — January 20, 2026 — Jewish Family & Children’s Service of the Suncoast (JFCS) is celebrating 40 years of service to the Sarasota-Manatee community following a proclamation from the City of Sarasota officially designating January 20, 2026, as “JFCS of the Suncoast 40th Anniversary Day.”
Founded in 1986, JFCS began by supporting local Jewish immigrants and older adults and has since grown into a multi-service nonprofit serving individuals and families of all ages, backgrounds, and faiths. Today, JFCS provides counseling, financial assistance, youth and family support, veteran services, and programs for older adults and Holocaust survivors.
“Being recognized by the City of Sarasota is a meaningful honor and a testament to the dedication of our staff, partners, and supporters over the past 40 years,” said Dr. Helene Lotman, CEO of JFCS of the Suncoast. “This milestone reflects our continued commitment to strengthening mental health, promoting stability, and building resilience across our community.”
The proclamation was presented by the Sarasota City Commission on January 20, 2026, honoring JFCS for four decades of compassionate service and community impact.
