Sarasota County Homeless Veterans Stand Down
All VETERANS are invited to this FREE event!
On Saturday, February 21, 2026, JFCS of the Suncoast will host the 14th Annual Veteran’s Stand Down. This year JFCS celebrates our 40th anniversary, and we are determined to make this Stand Down the biggest and best yet.
Each year, Stand Down provides a few hours of relief, support, and assistance —free of charge—for veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. With the help of dozens of community partners, veterans receive access to critical resources such as housing, employment, medical care, mental health services, and more. This year, we hope to serve over 150 veterans.
One of the most impactful features of Stand Down is the Veterans Amnesty Court, where participants have the opportunity to have certain fines waived or minor charges dismissed at a judge’s discretion. This life-changing service helps veterans remove barriers that prevent them from obtaining driver’s licenses, jobs, and housing.
