Guided by the Jewish tradition of helping all people, Aging Services at JFCS empowers older adults and their families to meet the challenges of aging with dignity, respect, and purpose.
Through the programs offered by Aging Services, Seniors establish meaningful relationships and lifelines in a caring and supportive environment where there may have once been feelings of a lack of purpose, loss, grief, and even isolation. For over 38 years, JFCS has been providing support to Seniors and their caregivers so they have the tools to cope and find happiness and joy in every day.
JFCS offers a wide array of senior-based programs, from caregiver support groups and counseling, to Alzheimer’s support and education. JFCS works with many community partners including the American Alzheimer’s Association, Friendship Centers, Roskamp Center, and Pines Education Institute. Our senior outreach services support the dignity and independence of older adults.

Caregiver Resources
JFCS offers support, education, training, and opportunities to meet with others who face the challenges associated with being a caregiver.
Caregivers frequently experience fatigue and isolation and don’t know how to ask for help. JFCS offers caregiver support groups and individual support sessions to help caregivers understand what their care partners are going through, deal with the decisions that need to be made, the emotions they are experiencing, and connect them to the resources needed.
The Caregiver Support group hosts weekly meetings that are free for family caregivers to attend and share with others. Family caregivers may also receive both support and community resources from our professional JFCS staff.
Any potential new client must make an appointment with the Aging Services Program Coordinator, Maria Vazquez, RCSWI before participating in any services. The initial appointment/assessment is generally an hour.
