JFCS of the Suncoast, one of the Suncoast’s preeminent mental health counseling and health and human services providers, has added a new member to its board of directors and elected a new vice chair.
Del Webb community turns out to celebrate veterans’ contributions
For the Del Webb Lakewood Ranch Association of Veterans and Military Supporters, its fifth annual Veterans Day Celebration was a special day, but it also is a continuation of a constant effort to support veterans and their families.
During the Nov. 6 event, the organization handed out $20,000 of assistance to organizations it supports, such as Manasota Operation Troop Support, JFCS of the Suncoast (Veterans Outreach), My Warrior’s Place of Ruskin, and Southeastern Guide Dogs.
JFCS seeking more Adopt-A-Family donors
SARASOTA — Jewish Family & Children’s Service of the Suncoast has been happy with all the people who have signed up for “adopt-a-family.”
But JFCS still needs more help.
The community has been donating gifts for families and seniors who are struggling, with more than 330 children and 150 seniors signed up for holiday assistance through JFCS.

Following an extensive national search, JFCS of the Suncoast announces the appointment of Dr. Helene Lotman to the CEO and President role effective Jan. 1, 2023.
Adopt-a-family
Since 2004, the JFCS has organized an annual Adopt-a-Family campaign to help parents struggling to provide holiday meals and gifts to their families. Donors can also brighten the day of seniors in isolation through its Adopt-a-Senior program.
Food Truck Meals to the Community
JFCS of the Suncoast is raising money to purchase ingredients for food trucks to make hot meals for individuals and families impacted by Hurricane Ian. Local non-profits, businesses, community representatives, etc. are invited to stop by and pick up meals to distribute.

‘Sock it to Us’ sock drive for veterans, homeless
The Jewish Family and Children’s Services of the Suncoast is hosting a drive to help those in need keep their feet dry and warm. September 19 – October 14, 2022.
Community Rally for the mendozas
Family members of a mother and father killed when their food truck blew a tire and crashed on I-75 are receiving support from the Sarasota and Manatee County communities. Life will never be the same for 4-year-old Isaac Mendoza and his sister, 5-year-old Carla, who lost both of their parents in the Aug. 16 crash.
