Volunteer

We have over 800 volunteers logging more than 10,000 hours annually at JFCS. Without volunteers, we could not do what we do for Aging Seniors, At-Risk Youth, Homeless Veterans, and individuals and families in need. Their time, talent, and compassion for others is priceless. We are excited that you are interested in joining our JFCS volunteer family. Opportunities include serving meals, facilitating activities for children or seniors, mentoring and tutoring at-risk youth, teaching Life Skills such as budgeting, cooking, resume writing, and how to conduct oneself in an interview, administrative tasks, and many project-based opportunities such as our Adopt-a-Family/Adopt-a-Senior, Backpack Drive, Book Drive, Family Fun and Health Day, and Homeless Veterans Stand Down.
Please create an account below and fill out the online application. We will then set up an interview, tour, and schedule your fingerprinting appointment. While you are waiting for your background screening to clear, we have you shadow in one to three areas of interest so that you can select the best option for you. You will then attend a training within the area you choose. We offer weekly volunteer lunches, monthly volunteer appreciation events, Volunteer of the Year
awards ceremony, and monthly educational training and workshops to attend if you wish.
We look forward to meeting you and having you join the team!
