Outreach Coordinator – REACH – Healthy Marriage and Responsible Fatherhood Programs

Accountability: Program Director

Position Summary:

Provide overall coordination of raising awareness in the community of HMRF program, Relationship and Parenting classes, and successful recruitment of participants. The Outreach Coordinator will work primarily in the community of the tri-county region comprised of Sarasota, Manatee, and Charlotte counties building strategic relationships, conducting a variety of outreach activities, and recruiting program participants. The successful candidate must have an understanding of the community’s culture and ethnicity and be able to take advantage of its opportunities and respond positively to its challenges. This position will work closely with the Program Director and Marketing Department.

Specific Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain relationships with collaborative partners and cultivate new ones through strategic plan and efforts
  • Develop and manage an innovative, unconventional, out of the box outreach and recruitment plan to increase community referral stream in the three service areas; Sarasota, Manatee, and Charlotte counties
  • Engage and recruit participants at community events with the goal of serving at least 450 for participants a year.
  • Develop, create, and maintain a contact/referral database for partners and prospective participants
  • Researching and registering for appropriate community events, and coordinate community event logistics including supplies and staffing of event
  • Create outreach and collateral materials, including flyers, brochures, press releases, presentations and advertisements to market program and recruit participants
  • Implement social media, public relations and advertising campaigns for program in conjunction with organizational objectives
  • Assist with participant screening and enrollment process
  • Conduct presentation during enrollment events
  • Keep accurate records of follow up with outreach events, recruitment efforts, and all referrals and interested participants
  • Participate in program’s Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Implementation team
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as program needs require travel amongst the tri-county area as well as some evenings and weekends

Education/Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in human services or marketing. A minimum of two year’s combined experience in direct social service and/or marketing/sales
  • Vast knowledge of community resources and partners
  • Strong ability to connect with professionals and lay people in the community
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products and demonstrate competent computer skills
  • Understanding of cultural diversity including the culture of poverty and hard to reach or resistant individuals and families
  • Bilingual – English and Spanish

 Typical Physical Demands:

This position requires the individual to perform a broad range of activities. This position requires full range of motion, including manual and finger dexterity and hand and eye coordination. This position requires corrected vision, speech, and hearing to normal range, or special accommodations made of sufficient nature for completion of assigned tasks. This position requires seated work at desk, including use of a computer and technology. This position requires the ability to lift 30 pounds. This position requires the ability to drive and have regular access to a reliable automobile for travel to remote offices. This position requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.

All required JFCS training per COA, DCF, and any additional training as needed within the required timeframes
